Competency exam ordered for man accused of threatening to blow up jail

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A competency exam is in order for a homeless man who's accused of threatening to blow up the Eau Claire County Jail and kill the sheriff.

Elijah Klumb, 28, is charged with making bomb scares, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct and possessing marijuana. He's accused of calling in a bomb threat to the communications center last week and telling an officer God would make the jail disappear.

According to court records, he also told someone at the jail that he wants to quote, "shoot the sheriff."
