ConAgra packs 27,000 meals for Kids Against Hunger

(WEAU) - Workers at a local company were taking time out Thursday to help make sure less fortunate families in the area will have something to eat.

Employees at ConAgra Foods in Menomonie were packing meals for the Million Meal March, an event the company is doing with the organization Kids Against Hunger.

Thursday they packed 27,000 meals that will be given to Stepping Stones Food Pantry in Menomonie.

Scott Bryant, Event Coordinator with Kids Against Hunger says it's a good experience for everyone involved. "A lot of people have come on and said 'hey this is a great thing.' not only is it great to give to the people, but a lot of the organizations come here and they have a blast doing it," Bryant said.

Nationwide, ConAgra will pack and donate more than 1.3 million meals.
