Construction scheduled for Menomonie Street in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- There are some new road closures that could affect your commute in Eau Claire.

Hobart Street is now closed from Galloway to Wisconsin Street for construction. On Monday, construction is also scheduled for Menomonie Street from Clairemont Avenue to Carson park drive. Crews will be working to re-pave the road.

"Traffic will remain open on Menomonie Street. The work that we were doing this week is to build a temporary road, so we're building a temporary road through property that is owned by the YMCA to keep access to Clairemont Avenue and Menomonie Street open for the businesses so traffic will be able to progress through the work zone during construction," said City Engineer, Dave Solberg.

Crews have until August 15th to complete the project.
