Convicted sex offender to be released in Ladysmith Tuesday

LADYSMITH, Wis. (LADYSMITH POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) -- Ladysmith Chief of Police Allen Lobermeier announces the release of (Michael) Crouse on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from the custody of the Department of Corrections. Crouse is a convicted sex offender who has been identified by professionals within the Department of Corrections as a person who may present a risk to re-offend. A decision to notify the Ladysmith Community of Crouse’s release has been made by members of a core team that review Special Sex Offender Bulletin Notifications forwarded by the Department of Corrections. Members of the Rusk County Core Team are comprised of local Law Enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, Crime Victim Service Office, the Department of Corrections, local Probation Agents, School Board Representatives, and a Health and Human Services Representative.

Crouse remains under the close supervision of local Probation Agents, including being restricted geographically by electronic monitoring equipment. Crouse is also required to follow specific and detailed rules prescribed by DOC including no alcohol, no illegal narcotics, not entering liquor establishments, no contact with unsupervised minors, and a lifetime registration with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program. Crouse will be residing at 402 W Fritz Ave in Ladysmith.
