Council postpones vote on S. Barstow reconstruction

(WEAU) - A decision on the bid for the reconstruction of South Barstow Street will have to wait two more weeks.

Tuesday night at the Eau Claire City Council meeting, the council voted to postpone the vote until their next meeting on May 7th so it could take a closer look at the design committee's recommendations. The winning bid for the reconstruction project was slightly less than $1.6 million, made by Haas Sons Inc., but that doesn't include street lights.

A portion of the project would be paid for by the businesses along the stretch that would be rebuilt.
