Council interviews city manager candidates
(WEAU) - The Eau Claire City Council held a special meeting to interview three city manager candidates.
They went into this closed session Thursday night for the interviews. The finalists are Dale Peters, who works for the City of Eau Claire, Stephen Rymer from Morgan Hill, California, and Russell Van Gomple, who's the village manager of Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
City Council President Kerry Kincaid says "The council I believe and the city staff are anxious, it’s been since December that we've been working under a very skilled interim city manager, but everyone's anxious to have a new face in place.”
The city hopes to come to a final decision in the next few weeks.
