Crash on Highway 53 sends woman to the hospital

(WEAU) - A woman was taken to the hospital after crashing into a bridge wall in Altoona Monday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the woman was driving south on Highway 53 a little before noon, when she tried to merge into the other lane. Troopers say she saw a car in her blind spot and overcorrected while trying to get back into the original lane.

She hit a wall on the bridge near the exit for River Prairie Drive and went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
