Crash shuts down Clairemont Avenue bridge

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Icy roads are to blame for a five-vehicle crash in Eau Claire.

It happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday on North Clairemont Avenue near Menomonie Street. Eau Claire police say a car going east on Clairemont "fish-tailed," and hit a guard rail. The bridge over the Chippewa River was closed for about an hour.

Officer Kyle Roder says there were minor injuries in the crash. He reminds drivers to slow down.
