TOWN OF SPRING BROOK, Wis. (WEAU) - Several fire departments remain at the scene of a mobile home fire.

It started about 2:15 p.m. Monday off County Road C and 290th Avenue, southeast of Menomonie. A person was driving by and saw smoke. Firefighters say a man was doing construction work on the home and was heating it with a wood fired furnace. He left, and at some point the home caught fire.

Firefighters from Menomonie, Elk Mound and Durand say the cold caused a hose to burst and oxygen tanks to freeze up.

They say the mobile home is a total loss, but no one was hurt.
