EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Firefighters believe a mobile home fire Tuesday afternoon caused nearly $10,000 in damage.
The fire happened in an unoccupied mobile home on Broadview Blvd. in Eau Claire. Eau Claire Fire and Rescue says a neighbor reported smoke coming from the home. Crews responded, and found smoke. They went in the home and put out the fire. It took them about 30 minutes to get it under control. Firefighters say nobody was in the home at the time of the fire, and nobody was hurt. The cause is under investigation.
The department says cold weather did not hamper its efforts to put out the fire. SkyWarn 13 Meteorologist Matt Hoffman says the temperature in Eau Claire was -4 with a wind chill of -18 at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, which is when crews were at the scene.
