Customers in Eau Claire no longer need to run water constantly

By  |

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (CITY OF EAU CLAIRE NEWS RELEASE) -- Effective immediately – The City of Eau Claire Water Utility is giving notice to utility customers, who have been running their water as a result of their water services freezing this past winter, to turn off their water. The frost in the ground should not be of any further issue, and turning off their water should not cause any loss of service. The utility bills for those customers asked to run their water will be adjusted based upon historical usage.

The winter of 2013-14 was unprecedented in regards to the number of frozen water services and main breaks that we experienced in the City of Eau Claire. To date the City had 485 frozen water services, and 14 water main breaks since January 1, 2014.
