MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Polls have closed in Wisconsin elections, with incumbents favored in statewide races for the Supreme Court and state schools superintendent.
Justice Pat Roggensack and Tony Evers, the incumbent superintendent, held very early leads in their respective races.
Roggensack is being challenged by Marquette University law professor Ed Fallone for a 10-year term on the state's highest court. Roggensack is generally viewed as part of the four-justice conservative majority on the court.
Evers faces Republican state Rep. Don Pridemore in the race to head the state Department of Public Instruction. Evers is seeking a second term in the post.
Both races are officially nonpartisan.
