WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Police say a man found dead along the shoreline of Lake Wausau died from a head and neck injuries and hypothermia.

Authorities say the death of 29-year-old Ezequias Mendez-Perez was apparently accidental.

Police Capt. Gregory Hagenbucher says Mendez-Perez was last seen walking near the Cabaret Bar on Sunday evening and was very intoxicated. Reports say his roommate told investigators that he commonly used a steep trail near the lakeshore to walk to and from the bar. His body was found along the rocky shoreline Tuesday.
