FITCHBURG, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities have released the names of two women who died after a shooting in a Fitchburg home.

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office says 39-year-old Ashlee Steele of Fitchburg and 38-year-old Kacee Tollefsbol of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, were killed Friday as a result of homicidal violence. Police said the women were shot.

A man who was at the home was arrested and taken to the hospital with injuries. Police didn't elaborate, but said those injuries were not inflicted by law enforcement.

The shooting is still being investigated. The Associated Press is not identifying the suspect because he has not been formally charged.

Fitchburg Mayor Shawn Pfaff called the homicides horrific but says it was an isolated incident and the community is safe.
