Deputies investigate log truck crash near Fall Creek

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (EAU CLAIRE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- On Monday, August 18, 2014 at 5:30 A.M. the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash involving a log truck on Hwy 12 just east of Fall Creek. The log truck was eastbound on Hwy 12 when it entered the ditch and rolled onto its side. The driver was not injured. Deputies were able to keep one lane of traffic open while the logs were off-loaded but Hwy 12 was closed for approximately 50 minutes while the log truck was righted and removed from the scene. Hwy 12 reopened at 8:00 A.M. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Augusta Police Department and the Eau Claire County Highway Department.
