Deputies release new information in Highway 29 crash near Chippewa Falls

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)-- We now know the driver arrested in a crash that hurt three kids is the father of the children. 40-year-old Chad Kohel, of River Falls, was arrested for driving under the influence.

The crash happened Sunday night on Highway 29 near Chippewa Falls.
The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department says Kohel's 9-year-old and 12-year-old sons, and his 8-year-old daughter, were taken to the hospital.
The two boys were released Monday. The girl was still being treated Tuesday for non life-threatening injuries.

Kohel was released from the Chippewa County jail Monday on a $2,500 cash bond. The Chippewa County District Attorney's Office says Kohel's first initial court appearance is set for April 1st.
