Deputies searching for bank robbery suspect in Burnett County

BURNETT COUNTY, Wis. (RELEASE FROM BURNETT CO. SHERIFF'S DEPT.)-- On Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a bank robbery that had occurred at the Bremer Bank branch located in the unincorporated village of Danbury. This area is located about 60 miles south of Duluth, MN and about 75 miles northeast of the Twin Cities. Bank employees reported that a lone male suspect entered the bank displaying a handgun and demanding money; the suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, running into a wooded area southwest of the bank. An extensive ground search utilizing law enforcement K9 units and an aerial search utilizing Wisconsin DNR aircraft did not locate the suspect. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect being sought in this robbery was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a tight-fitting white covering over his face, dark glasses; dark pants possibly with a logo or design on the right rear pocket, light colored gloves, and white athletic shoes.

Investigation into this incident continues by the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Anyone who recognizes this suspect or has information about this robbery should contact the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office at 715-349-2121.
