Deputies investigate two suspicious fires on Country Fest grounds
CADOTT, Wis. (WEAU) -- An investigation is underway after two suspicious fires in Chippewa County.
Deputies say it happened on the grounds of Country Fest at the Chippewa Valley Festival Grounds in Cadott.
The first fire happened around 9 p.m. Friday where a porta-potty in the campground was attempted to be lit on fire.
Deputies say the second happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday where a pop-up camper was reported on fire with people still inside.
Fire crews put out the flames and the people in the trailer were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies say they believe the two fires are connected.
They are still investigating the case.
