EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Doctors and Mayo Clinic staff took some pies to the face to raise money for a good cause.
The family medicine department raised money for the American Heart Association by having staff donate to pie a doctor.
The doctors who had the most money put towards their "pieing", stepped up today and took the pastries all in stride.
Dr. Paul Loomis, who was the top donation getter, told us how the event came together.
He said, "one of our nurses is involved with an American Heart Association fundraising event and she thought this would be a great idea for a fun activity that involves a lot of the staff and raises money for a good cause and it turned out great."
The hospital says with the pie contest and other efforts, the family medicine team raised about $1,000 for the Heart Association.
