EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- For its last day of the season, the Fairfax Pool heard some loud splashes from local K-9s.
The final day of Eau Claire Parks and Recreation's outdoor swim season went to the dogs. The pool saw dozens of canines all cross the Chippewa Valley battling the heat in cool water at their annual doggie swim fest.
Some owners say the event is their pet's favorite day of the year because they get to get out of the house, socialize with other dogs and get their tails wet.
“This is our third year coming here and we consider it a Christmas for our dog,” said Kay Hancock. “This is her favorite day of the year, it's a lot of fun, she loves to swim and this is really the only chance she gets, we don't go to lakes or anything, so this is her Christmas.”
And if you and your pup missed Sunday’s doggie swim, Monday and Tuesday, you can head on over to the Chippewa Falls Bernard F. Willi community pool. They're hosting the Chippewa Falls Happy Tails Dog Park 5th annual Dog Swim from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
