NEW INFORMATION: Donation drive collects supplies, more than $1,300 for students displaced by apartment fire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UW-EAU CLAIRE NEWS RELEASE) - Just over $1,300 in monetary donations, two laptop computers, two televisions, clothing, school supplies and groceries were collected Oct. 10-12 during an on-campus donation drive in support of the two surviving University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students displaced by an Oct. 8 apartment fire that killed two of their roommates.

The donation drive was sponsored by the Student Services Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A donation drive was held this week at UW-Eau Claire for the two roommates who survived a fire on Water Street this week.

The dean of students says as of Friday morning, organizers collected more than $1000 for Garret Isakson and Casey Malan.

He says they also collected food, some furniture and electronics.

Checks should be made payable to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, with "Fire Victims Donation Drive" indicated on the memo line. Credit card donations may be made online by selecting "Give Now" and indicating "Fire Victims Donation Drive" in the gift information field of the online form.
