EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (EAU CLAIRE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- On Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 4:27 P.M. an Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on London Road near Brian Street. The driver, 22 year old Andrew Hinman of rural Fall Creek refused to stop. Deputies pursued Hinman on township roads south of Highway 12 to a dead end road near Fall Creek. Hinman abandon his vehicle when it became stuck in a field. He was taken into custody while walking on County Highway I. The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Altoona Police Department and the Fall Creek Police Department. Hinman is in custody at the Eau Claire County jail charged with fleeing an officer, resisting an officer and possession of marijuana. Investigation is continuing.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Deputies arrested a rural Fall Creek man after a chase.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office says it arrested Andrew Hinman, 22, on Tuesday. The chase happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, when a deputy tried to stop a vehicle on London Road near Brian Street. Hinman was driving, and refused to stop. Deputies followed Hinman on roads south of U.S. Highway 12 to a dead end road near Fall Creek. That's where Hinman left his vehicle when it got stuck in a field. Deputies caught him as he was walking on County Road I.
Hinman is also accused of marijuana possession. As of Wednesday afternoon, Hinman had not been charged in the case.
