Names released in Pepin Co. rollover, driver arrested, five hurt

At 1:40 PM on Friday June 21, 2013 a crash occurred on Co. Hwy H at Albany D in PEPIN County
near DURAND.

Assisting agencies included Pepin Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Buffalo Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Mondovi
Ambulance, Durand Ambulance, and Rock Creek Fire Dept..

The crash involved 5 injuries. Vehicle and occupant information, if available, is on attached page(s).

The details of the crash are as follows:
On 6/21/13 at approx. 1:40PM State Patrol Troopers responded to a one vehicle roll-over on Co.
Hwy H near Albany D in Pepin County. The vehicle contained six (6) occupants, three of which
were children. Five total occupants were transported to medical facilities with various injuries.

The vehicle driven by William J. Crowley Jr, 26 year old from Mondovi, was south bound on Co. Hwy H when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled. All occupants were properly restrained including the 3 children in the rear seat, restrained with car-seats. In addition to the driver, other occupants include Veronica Fitzgerald - age 26, Ryan Meier - age 22, Macy Fitzgerald - age 2, Violet Fitzgerald - age 6, and Journi Crowley - age 1, all from Mondovi.
William Crowley was arrested and faces multiple charges of causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle after revocation. He was also cited for operating too
fast for conditions and operating with no vehicle insurance.


TOWN OF ALBANY, Wis. (WEAU) - One person was arrested in a crash that sent five people to the hospital.

The Pepin County Sheriff's Department says the driver is suspected of OWI. That person’s name hasn’t been released. Five of the six people in the car, were taken to the hospital. One of the passengers was flown from the scene. There's no word on the extent of their injuries.

The car rolled on County Road H near Rock Falls, around 2 p.m. Friday. Three adults and three children were in the car. The crash is still under investigation.
