Driver killed in crash involving semi, car near Menomonie

MENOMONIE, Wis. (DUNN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) -- On Thursday June 19, 2014 at 7:56 am the Dunn County 911 center received a report of a semi versus car crash on State Highway 25 at County Road D in the Township of Tainter. Officers from the Dunn County Sheriffs Office and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene as well as Menomonie Fire and EMS.

Officers determined that the car had been traveling west on CTH D and pulled into the path of a northbound semi tractor trailer unit.

The driver of the west bound car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dunn County Medical Examiner and the semi driver was uninjured.

The names are being withheld until family members are notified.

The crash remains under investigation.
