EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- The Eau Claire City Council approved a renovation project for an old Eau Claire railroad bridge.
The project will make the Chippewa River High Bridge accessible to pedestrian and bike traffic. $1.1 million dollars was approved to add a new deck and railings. The bridge was once used for trains, but has since sat dormant.
City council says construction on the bridge will begin this fall and will be finished by the end of next summer.
