EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Eau Claire County says it's about to limit access to the second floor of the courthouse to beef up security there.
On Friday, the county announced that the public will only be able to access the second floor of the County Government Center through an entrance at the main stairwell and elevators at the Oxford Avenue and 2nd Avenue entrances starting September 1. The public will not be able to get through any of the other doors that lead to the second floor. The county will also limit public access to Juvenile Detention and keep the northwest entrance door to the County Government Center locked after September 1. It's at the corner of Oxford Avenue and Grand Avenue.
The county says the measures are part of the building project plans for the County Government Center.
