MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Eau Claire County is among some areas in the state experiencing an Advisory for Particle Pollution.

The Department of Natural Resources issued the advisory Friday around 4 p.m. It runs until 11 p.m. Friday. During the advisory, the quality of the air is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. That means the general public isn't likely to be affected. The risk is for people with lung disease, older adults and children because of an exposure to ozone. People with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk because of particles in the air. Those people are asked to reschedule or cut back on strenuous activities.

The particles typically come from combustion sources, like power plants, factories and other industrial sources, vehicle exhaust, and wood burning.
