Deputy Chief Matthew Rokus
Deputy Chief Rokus joined the Eau Claire Police Department on January 6, 1997 as a Community Service Officer and was appointed to the position of Police Officer on December 29, 1997. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Detective Lieutenant. Additionally, Deputy Chief Rokus has served as coordinator for the Department’s Police Training Officer program and Crime Scene Unit.
Deputy Chief Rokus is a 1997 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and a 2010 graduate of the Criminal Justice Executive Development Institute.
Deputy Chief Rokus and his wife Erica have two sons, Sawyer and Jameson.
Lieutenant Ryan Dahlgren
Lieutenant Dahlgren joined the Eau Claire Police Department on December 15, 2003. He was most recently assigned to the Detective Division overseeing the Sensitive Crimes Section. Lieutenant Dahlgren previously served in the Patrol Division and Special Operations Section. Lieutenant Dahlgren is an instructor for the Department’s Police Training Officer and Force Options Training programs; he has also previously served as a team leader on the Tactical Response Team.
Prior to attending college, Sergeant Dahlgren served two years with the United States Army. He received his undergraduate degree from UW – Eau Claire and worked for the Wisconsin State Patrol for five years before being hired by the Eau Claire Police Department.
Sergeant Dahlgren and his wife Jacqueline have two children.
Sergeant Andrew Wise
Sergeant Wise joined the Eau Claire Police Department on August 20, 2007. He was most recently assigned to the Special Services Bureau as Safety Education Officer and was previously assigned to the Patrol Division. Sergeant Wise also serves as a trainer for the Department’s Police Training Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Force Options Training programs. He is currently the coordinator of the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team.
Sergeant Wise served six years with the Wisconsin Army National Guard and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received his degree in Criminal Justice from Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Sergeant Wise and his wife Katie have three children.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Three officers in the Eau Claire Police Department have been promoted.
The department announced the promotions on Thursday. Lt. Matt Rokus was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police, Sgt. Ryan Dahlgren was promoted to Lt. of Police, and Officer Andrew Wise was promoted to Sergeant of Police.
