Eau Claire Police Dept. hires three new officers

On Wednesday morning, officers Cory Reeves of Wisconsin Rapids, Mark Vang of Green Bay, and Tyler Larsen of Eau Claire were sworn in.

Officer Cory Reeves

Officer Reeves earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice as a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and received his law enforcement certification from the Fox Valley Technical College Law Enforcement Academy.

Officer Mark Vang

Officer Vang earned an associate’s degree in Applied Sciences – Criminal Justice as a graduate of Fox Valley Technical College and received his law enforcement certification from the Fox Valley Technical College Law Enforcement Academy. He was most recently employed as a Community Service Officer with the Appleton Police Department.

Officer Tyler Larsen

Officer Larsen earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology as a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Duluth as well as an associate’s degree in Law Enforcement from the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. He received his law enforcement certification from the Chippewa Valley Technical College Police Recruit Academy. He was most recently employed as a police officer with the City of Cumberland Police Department and as a Community Service Officer with the Eau Claire Police Department.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Eau Claire Police Department has three new officers on its staff.

On Wednesday morning, officers Cory Reeves of Wisconsin Rapids, Mark Vang of Green Bay, and Tyler Larsen of Eau Claire were sworn in. Larsen is the son of former Deputy Chief and current City Councilman Eric Larsen. During the ceremony, the officers introduced themselves and their families. Chief Jerry Staniszewski addressed the officers, and told them what is expected of them in their new jobs.

The three officers started serving with the department Wednesday. They will be assigned to the department's patrol division. They also start the Eau Claire Police Department Police Training Officer Program on Wednesday.
