Eau Claire Transit Commission looking into new options for route connecting to Dunn County

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- The Eau Claire Transit Commission is looking into new options for its route that connects to Dunn County.

The commission says Dunn County Transit has a route to the transfer center that operates three times a day, making the Eau Claire transit route obsolete. Transit workers say there is a possibility that the route could be discontinued following its next meeting in March.

"We weren't getting a lot of ridership, and it wasn't connecting very well there, so what happened was in mid-January they decided to come all the way into the transfer center," said Eau Claire Transit Manager, Mike Branco.

The Transit Commission will be holding a public hearing for the possible cancellation of the route connecting to Dunn County on March 26th.
