Eau Claire business owners come together for annual fundraiser

By  |

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) Business owners in Eau Claire got together to enjoy a round of golf while raising money.

It was the 29th Annual Golf and Dinner for the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce out at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.

People playing Monday morning got their rounds in, but the rain and lightning put a little damper on the activities, as the afternoon rounds had to be cancelled.

All of the funds that are raised at the event will be going back into the chamber's general fund.

"It's the first golf event of the year, there's probably golf outings every day now for the rest of the summer but its a real business to business networking so we're pretty proud of being here for 29 years and having a great event, just got a little rain today," explains Bob McCoy of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce.

McCoy isn't sure how much was raised this year, but in years past, they've raised about $20,000.
