EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An Eau Claire man is accused of driving a car into another man on a moped on purpose, causing that man to crash.

Prosecutors recently filed criminal charges against Christopher Klocek, 20. A criminal complaint says that Klocek rammed Evan Jeffers with the car on Agnes Street after chasing him on June 26. The car took off, but officers stopped it later. Klocek and his girlfriend, who was riding with him, both admitted to being involved in the crash, then driving off. Jeffers ended up in the hospital with a broken wrist and other injuries. Klocek told investigators he had been following Jeffers to "find out where he lived," and that the crash was an accident. He also said that his girlfriend had cheated on him with Jeffers in the past. Klocek said he didn't stop because he thought that Jeffers would hurt him.

Court records show that Klocek is free on a signature bond. He's due in court in August.
