Eau Claire man sentenced to federal prison for gun crime

MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) – A man considered an Armed Career Criminal who was convicted of having a gun as a felon will spend 15 years in federal prison.

A federal judge handed the sentence down to Roosevelt Spencer, 32, of Eau Claire on Thursday. She imposed the mandatory minimum sentence. Spencer had two prior felony convictions for crimes of violence and an additional felony conviction for a serious drug offense.

Spencer pleaded guilty to the related charge in May.
