EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The City of Eau Claire has been named one of the best cities in America.

Visit Eau Claire says Eau Claire, Wisconsin has been selected as a recipient of the National Civic League All-America City Award.

It says a group of representatives from Eau Claire went to Denver, Colorado and competed with 25 other cities, which were selected as finalists, and 10 were recognized with the award.

Representatives told the judges the story of their city. Visit Eau Claire says Eau Claire's selection as a finalist was based on an application which was completed by members of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce 2014 Leadership Eau Claire class.

Topics within Eau Claire's application included the Phoenix Park project, Clear Vision Eau Claire, and the Health Chapter of the Eau Claire Comprehensive Plan.

Visit Eau Claire says 2014 is the first year Eau Claire has been selected as finalist.
