Eau Claire wins All-American City Award

By  |

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) The City of Eau Claire is now an All-American.

It earned the National Civic League's All-America City Award.

Eau Claire competed with 25 other finalists, and ten were recognized with the award.

This was based on an application and a presentation telling the story of the city.

Visit Eau Claire markets the area as a destination for conventions, group tours, sporting events, and leisure markets.

A place to sell fun, promote fun, and most importantly - have fun!

"It's a great honor, over 4,000 cities applied and around 600 have gotten the award since it started 65 years ago. So a lot of cities go and compete and don't win their first time, we went, we had a great story to tell, and we brought home the prize, so it's pretty exciting stuff," says Michael Strubel of Visit Eau Claire.

This is the very first time Eau Claire has made the finals.
