Elderly man dies in house fire

(WEAU)-A man is dead after a house fire in Sawyer County.

The sheriff's department says on December 25 around 10 p.m., it got a call of a house fire at 6977W Fadness Road in the Town of Winter. While the fire was being fought, an investigation started into the whereabouts of the person who lived at the home. Fire crews continued to put out the fire and were digging through debris. Two days later, Harold Kingery, 84, was found dead under the debris in the home.

The cause of his death and the cause of the fire are not suspicious in nature. The cause of the fire at this time is believed to be from a heat source within the home.
