ELK MOUND, Wis. (WEAU)- An area community has a library to call its own after years of hard work. Monday night the Village of Elk Mound officially opened the doors of its new library and community center to the public.

The Elk Mound Village President says while work on the inside is complete there are still a few finishing touches that need to be done to the outside.

Andy Peterson says they still need to paint the exterior, landscape and repave the parking lot. Despite the work that still needs to be done librarian Katie Johnson says they are excited to show off all of their hard work.

“Everyone has been so helpful with moving in. This past Saturday everyone came in and helped so you know they all want to see what came of their hard work,” Johnson said.

The library will have regular hours Monday through Thursday of each week.

There will also be a book sale coming up on Saturday, April 5th inside the community meeting room.
