Emergency Highway Closure – Ice Chunks Falling onto Road

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - A stretch of County Road H near Fairchild is closed because of large ice chunks that are falling from the WEAU 13 transmission tower.

Eau Claire County Highway Commissioner Marcus Evans announced that the road between Black Creek Road and County Road M in the Town of Fairchild would likely remain closed until late Saturday.

Evans encourages drivers to use a different route while the stretch of road is closed.

County Trunk Highway (CTH) H has been closed between Black Creek Road and CTH M in the Town of Fairchild. Large ice chunks are falling onto the road from a nearby transmission tower. Road users are encouraged to use alternate routes. The road will likely reopen late tomorrow.
