NEWS RELEASE FROM LA CROSSE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT:
Beginning at 5:00 p.m.Wednesday, June 20th, the La Crosse Municipal Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise on the airports east ramp located northeast of the air traffic control tower.
This exercise is conducted every three years to meet Federal Aviation Regulations. The intent of this exercise is to allow airport personnel, along with various local emergency service providers to test
their roles in response to a simulated aircraft emergency.
This exercise will not affect air travel or aircraft operations at the airport and is expected to last three hours. Area residents will notice several emergency responders located along Fanta Reed Road and Fisherman’s Road near the airport. The exercise site will not be open to the public.
Mayo Clinic Health System will be participating in this event and has provided the following additional information:
“Patient care is top priority for Mayo Clinic Health System. Franciscan Healthcare opened over 125 years ago for emergency care and this upcoming exercise follows our heritage to care for patients under the most extreme circumstances,” said Leah Mudler, Emergency Coordinator at Mayo Clinic Health System.
“Both La Crosse and Sparta locations will participate as we review our efforts to care for patients under the scenario.”
