"Empty Bowl" fundraiser helps local food bank

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) The Feed My People Food Bank is holding its 14th Annual Empty Bowl Benefit Thursday at the Florian Gardens in Eau Claire.

The event is a fundraiser that serves locally made soup, specialty breads and desserts where guests can choose to take an empty bowl home with them.

The bowls were donated by local students, community members and artisans, with all the money raised going to local hunger-relief programs.

Organizers hope to raise about $50,000 from this year's event.
