LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- The former La Crosse police lieutenant accused of stealing drugs from the department's evidence room is back in jail.
A judge issued a warrant for Brian Thomson Wednesday after he tested positive for alcohol. He was later booked into jail for violating terms of his electronic monitoring.
In February, Thomson was sentenced to three months in jail and three months on electronic monitoring to be followed by three years of probation.
Thomson has been ordered back to jail for about two more months.
The 44-year-old Thomson pleaded guilty in December to stealing fake prescription pills from the department after it caught him in a sting. He had resigned from his position following his arrest in August.
