FBI in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Neighbors said there were some intense moments Thursday morning in La Crosse.

The FBI office in Chicago said agents were there to investigate a crime.

The FBI office in Chicago confirmed agents were in La Crosse Thursday in connection with a criminal investigation.

The FBI office in Milwaukee also said agents from its office were there to assist.

WEAU 13 News talked to La Crosse Police.

The department said it wasn’t involved, and wouldn’t give us any information.

One neighbor said her husband heard loud noises around 6:00 Thursday morning, and called police.

“They said, the FBI is there and what you heard they said were flash grenades. Flash grenades they called them. Those are set off to stun somebody, make it hard for them to get away, make it hard for them to react,” said Becky Post.

We’re not showing the house involved, until we confirm it’s the home the FBI searched.
