Family of a missing Onalaska man still searching for answers

ONALASKA, Wis (WEAU) -- It's been nearly a year since investigators first started searching for a missing man out of La Crosse County.

Dave Schroeder, 45 of Onalaska disappeared from his home on September 22 of 2012.

Nearly a year later, his body has not been found. Dave's wife, Karla Schroeder says the search has been exhausted and the family is now in the process of declaring him dead, and must prove to a judge that a body cannot be recovered.

To help raise money to cover court costs. Karla says there will be a fundraiser with food, a silent auction and activities for kids on Saturday September 21st from 1 to 5 pm at the Holmen American Legion.
