Filling the Dream of Special Olympics athletes

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Filling up at the pump came with a lot more meaning on Saturday as each gallon is helping to fulfill the dreams of local Special Olympics athletes.

Volunteers from area businesses and law enforcement took over 17 Mega Holiday gas stations for the 9th annual 'Filling the Dream' fundraiser. The event went from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Mega Holiday donated 5 cents of every gallon of gas pumped to the Indianhead Region Special Olympics.

Last year, the event brought in $13,000 for Special Olympics.
