Fire causes more than $100,000 in damage to home near River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WEAU)-- A fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to a home near River Falls.

The River Falls Fire Department says it happened around 11:15 Monday morning. Someone passing by the home saw smoke and flames. When firefighters got there, the side of home was fully engulfed in flames.

About 40 firefighters fought the fire. No one was home at the time and no one was hurt.

The cause is still under investigation, but firefighters believe it started in the area of the pool mechanical equipment.
