EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Fire crews were called to a fire in Eau Claire this afternoon. The fire broke out in a shed in the backyard of a house on Donald Street near Memorial High School. When the crews got there, no flames were visible, just smoke coming from the shed. The shed heated up enough to cause minor damage to the side of the house. No one was hurt and no significant damage was done.
“Possibly started by a juvenile fire setter, just playing with some matches or possibly some sticks,” said Ben Hays, Lieutenant Paramedic with Eau Claire Fire Department.
Crews say the fire probably started low in the structure. The exact origin of the fire is still under investigation.
