(WEAU) - Firefighters say a mobile home is burning itself out tonight, after being destroyed by fire.
Crews were called to the home on Copenhaver Avenue east of Stanley shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday night. Firefighters originally thought the man who lived there was inside, but found out he was safe. Two dogs inside died in the fire.
The Thorp fire chief say it's not clear what caused the fire and because of the extensive damage, they may never know. Flames were still burning after 6 p.m., and because of the damage, crews were letting the fire burn itself out. Stanley and Thorp fire departments were on scene.
