EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)--Families from one local elementary school got together Thursday night to learn more about reading.
It was a part of family night at Flynn Elementary in Eau Claire.
The families got to have a free meal and spend time in their children's classrooms.
But the night was also about teaching the families on how to increase reading fluency through practicing at home.
A teacher with the school says the staff likes to make sure the parents feel like they are a part of the school's family.
Around 500 people were expected to take part in the family night.
