(WEAU) - If you haven't filed your taxes yet, it’s not too late to do something special.
This is the first time Special Olympics is a choice on the form for a tax donation. It was signed into law by Governor Scott Walker in 2012.
The organization says it’s a simple thing Wisconsinites can do to give back in a big way. Director of Development for Special Olympics Karen Kraus told us "so when people go to fill out their taxes or they have someone fill them out for them, there's a whole list of all the items that you can donate to and Special Olympics is now a line item."
Krause says donations provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in 17 Olympic-type sports to nearly 10,000 Wisconsinites with intellectual disabilities.
