Former deacon charged with sexual assault of a minor

(WEAU) - A former church deacon is charged with sexually assaulting a minor.

According to the criminal complaint, a 15-year-old girl told deputies Raymond Harris, 46, of Radisson assaulted her more than once. The complaint says Harris admitted to the assault.

Pastor Dave Smith, from the Ladysmith Baptist Church told us Monday Harris had been at the church for 15 years.

Smith says Harris told him and another deacon about the assaults.

Harris is no longer at the church.
